The 411Inside-Out Student Ministry believes Jesus Christ has called us all to be His disciples. Discipleship is something we will do our entire life. 33 "No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket. Instead, it is put on a lampstand to give light to all who enter the room. 34 Your eye is a lamp for your body. A pure eye lets sunshine into your soul. But an evil eye shuts out the light and plunges you into darkness. 35 Make sure that the light you think you have is not really darkness. 36 If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight is shining on you." To Be a Disciple…To Make a Disciple What does this mean? Inside-Out Student Ministry believes Jesus Christ has called us all to be His disciples. Discipleship is something we will do our entire life. We never “arrive”, but we continue to grow! Our mission here at Inside-Out is to help you receive the tools to move forward in your own relationship with Jesus, and then to help others on that same journey. Purpose StatementInside-Out Student Ministries exists… To Shine the Light of Jesus on non-believing students, to Lead students to other Christians, to help students Grow in their faith, to guide students to Discover their purpose, and to show students the way to Worship Jesus with their lives. Purpose Statement This comes out of the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20… 18Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. 19Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." And the Great Commandment found in Matthew 22:36-40… 36"Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?" 37Jesus replied, " `You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39A second is equally important: `Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments." Shine the Light of Jesus - Our desire is to see students Shine the Light of Jesus on world with the life-changing story of the good news. We believe lives are changed as they come in contact with the love that God has for them, and the way in which it was expressed through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the grace we are offered. We believe students should not wait until someday in the future to do this, but today in the neighborhoods where they live, and the schools where they attend. Lead - Our desire is to see students Lead in relationships that honor God. We want to help them develop community in the small groups and friendship they have at youth group. We want them to pick wisely the friendship and influences they have in their lives. We want them to experience the deep level of relationship that comes through a community of believers doing life together. Grow - Our desire to actively pursue the development of students in these areas of their lives. We want to teach them what God's love letter says, equip them to live it out now and in the future, and challenge them to live in a way that champions these ideas. Discover - Our desire is to see students develop a mindset of others first. We want them to live a life that illustrates serves is not just something you do once in a while to feel better about yourself, but service is a lifestyle that you live out. We want them to have a focus on the entire world, and be asking the question what God would have them do to serve the world.
