PVC International Missions – 2010

October 8 – 22^nd – Uganda, Africa –We will be going to Jinja Uganda to work side-by-side with the Ugandan and Sudanese people to build an orphanage for the street children in the area. Contact Heather Olden for more information at heatherolden@hotmail.com. 

 

PVC Local Missions – 2010

There are many opportunities to serve in local outreach activities.  We have developed great relationships with the staff at SERVE and they really depend on our help to serve the people who live there.  SERVE and street ministry is a great way to serve with your family!  If you have any questions, please contact Kelly Schaeffer at missions@parkvalleychurch.com or Kelly.Schaeffer@Kleinschmidtusa.com. 

SERVE Meals – Monthly – Bring food/drinks etc. to SERVE and prepare the meal and eat and fellowship with the SERVE residents.  We are now on a monthly schedule at SERVE beginning Sunday, January 24^th.  Other dates (all Sunday evenings) are 2/28, 3/28, 4/25, 5/23, 6/27, 7/25, 8/22, 9/26, 10/24, 11/28, 12/26.   Contact Lisa Malone for more info at malonelsg@comcast.net.

SERVE Childcare (4^th Thursday monthly) – Join other PVC families providing childcare and arts and crafts/games for the kids whose parents take classes on Thursday evenings.  Time – 6:30-8 PM.  Families welcome!  Come ready to babysit and/or help with arts and crafts.  Contact Lisa Malone for more info at malonelsg@comcast.net.

Hands in Motion – Join Tom and BJ Neff in providing services to the elderly in Prince William and Fauquier Counties through providing fire wood and doing maintenance projects on homes in the area.  A great way to serve locally!  Contact BJ Neff at 540-219-5116 or Info@HIMhq.org for more information and a schedule of projects.

DC Street Ministry – (Beginning March 13^th occurring monthly) – PVC has applied for a permit to conduct a street ministry program at Franklin Square Park in Washington DC.  We will prepare bagged lunches for the homeless and travel to DC to provide fellowship and distribute seasonally appropriate items.  Anyone with a heart for the homeless and a willingness to talk and pray with them is welcome!  Musicians needed to play non-amplified music.  Great family opportunity.  If you are interested, contact Kelly at missions@parkvalleychurch.com or Kelly.Schaeffer@Kleinschmidtusa.com.

Baltimore Street Ministry – (Dates TBA) – Join Doxa Church in Baltimore to do street ministry with the homeless in inner city Baltimore.  We work to prepare lunches, set up sound equipment and talk and minister to the homeless.  Typically an all day event arriving at Baltimore around 9:30 am and leaving Baltimore around 2-3:30 PM.  If you are interested, contact Kelly at missions@parkvalleychurch.com or Kelly.Schaeffer@Kleinschmidtusa.com.
