Cookout for Troops @ Walter Reed

We will be having a cookout for the troops at Walter Reed on September 5th from 2:30-6:30 pm. Last year, we served approx 200 troops and expect to serve about 200 this year as well. We are asking for volunteers in every area possible... preparing food, serving, clean-up, etc. We are in need of food donations of meats, vegetables, side dishes and deserts. It is opportunity for us to serve those who have served us. Please email Shirley Dominick if you would like to help or for more info.

Annual School Supplies Drive PVC loves getting involved in our community. With this School Supplies Drive, we are helping less fortunate parents who may not have the funds to be able to buy school supplies for their children. If you would like to donate, please consider the following: The school supply items MUST be NEW We are collecting supplies on the weekends of July 25th & 26th, August 1st & 2nd, 8th & 9th Volunteers will be needed beginning the week of August 17, to help sort and organize school supplies, assemble school supplies into backpacks by grade etc. If you would like more information about this School Supplies Drive, please call —703-367-6742 or email.

Local Mission Opportunity - Volunteers Needed! Park Valley Church is teaming with Doxa Ministries in Owings Mills, MD to go into the inner city of Baltimore and do "street ministry" on Saturday, August 1st. This 1-day ministry opportunity involves distributing food, clothing and talking with the homeless and other people hanging out in the streets of inner city Baltimore. Doxa Ministries has been doing Baltimore street ministry for a few years and we will accompany them and join them in ministering to the needy in Inner City Baltimore, MD. We will leave Alvey at 6:45 am on Saturday August 1st and return around 5 PM. New York City Bus Trip! Saturday, October 3rd Attention PVC women, join us for a day trip to New York City!! We will leave Haymarket at 6:30 AM and return around 11:00 PM. We'll have movies and snacks for the bus ride! A restroom is also available. While in NYC we will have plenty of time to shop and sightsee. We will visit Midtown Manhattan as well as Little Italy and China Town. The price per person is $75 with a $30.00 non-refundable but transferrable deposit. Please sign up ASAP as seats are limited! PVC Music Last Weekend The PVC Band's sole purpose each week is to create an environment where our church as a corporate body can come together and sing out our praises to God. We are the Musicians, You are the Choir and God is our audience! Please join us in this time of singing to and worshiping God together!
