Sunday, October 25th from 4:00-7:00 pm at Alvey Elementary. Help us make Trunk or Treat a huge success! We need people who will donate their trunk and/or bag(s) of candy. Please drop off candy in an orange bin in the main hallway or sign up at the Info Table in the main hall to let us know you will donate/decorate your trunk.

Celebrate Recovery
The purpose of Park Valley Church's Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the "8 Recovery Principles." This experience allows us to "be changed." You are not alone! Watch this video to see how people, just like you, are getting victory over their hurts, habits and hang-ups.

For more information, please email Bryan or call him at 703.366.3870 or Mark Brady at 703.655.7969.

Life Development Classes

God wants you to take your next step spiritually. That could mean getting baptized, committing to take time to dig into the Bible on a daily basis, or maybe God wants you to see what His Word has to say about why you exist. Park Valley's Life Development Classes are all about those next steps.

When: November 1st
Time: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Place: Alvey Elementary

Email Janice to sign up.

Annual Coat Drive

We will be collecting clean, gently used coats and other winter items (hats, scarves, gloves) starting October 17 and running through November.

There will be a table located in the hallway where you can drop off your items.

Any questions, contact Jamie Smith or call 571.261.1417.

Operation Christmas Child

Anyone completing a shoebox, must drop it off at the info table no later than November 7-8, 2009.

Information, guidelines and prayer cards are available at the info table as well.

For more information, please email Beth Meltzer.

Christmas for Wounded Soldiers
We are looking for volunteers to help with our "Adopt-a-Soldier" program which provides an opportunity for us to change Christmas for a soldier by giving them a $25.00 gift card from Wal-Mart or Target. We are currently scheduled to give the troops the gift cards as well as some other goodies on December 5, at 5:00 pm. In addition, we will be putting together at least 200 gift bags along with the gift cards. Some items needed for the gift bags are deodorant, toothpaste, razors, socks and scarves. Please place your gift cards in the box on the table in the hallway at church by November 29. If you or someone you know wants to help, please contact Shirley Dominick at 703.785.8980 or email.

Serve Opportunity
Please join us on the following dates to work at SERVE in Manassas. We provide child care and arts/crafts programs for children from 1-12 years old so that their parents can attend mandatory classes at the SERVE shelter. We need volunteers willing to help with the kids. The next SERVE Child Care Date: Thursday, October 22. Future dates include November 19 and December 17, 2009 and January 28, 2010. We begin at 6:30 and finish around 8:00 pm. Please email Lisa Malone for more information.
